Visit Kirstenbosch Gardens
Situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, just 8.6 km from 14 on Klein Constantia, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is one of Cape Town’s most treasured natural attractions.
Founded in 1913, Kirstenbosch showcases the extraordinary diversity of South Africa’s indigenous flora. Its beautifully landscaped gardens feature indigenous plants and trees, nourished by the Liesbeek River, while natural forest extends up the lower slopes of Table Mountain.
Covering an impressive 828 hectares, approximately 60 hectares are cultivated gardens, while the remainder forms a protected natural flora reserve. Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks, spectacular mountain scenery, and an exceptional opportunity to experience the unique beauty of South Africa’s indigenous plant life.
