Chapman's Peak Drive

Chapman’s Peak Drive winds spectacularly between Noordhoek and Hout Bay along Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline, on the south-western tip of South Africa. Renowned as one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives, it offers breathtaking views of the ocean, mountains, and rugged coastline.

The approximately 9 km route features 114 curves as it hugs the dramatic slopes of Chapman’s Peak, rising to 593 metres above sea level. For hiking enthusiasts, the peak also offers an invigorating experience for those looking to explore the area on foot.

Along the route, numerous viewpoints provide opportunities to stop, admire the spectacular 180-degree panoramic vistas, take photographs, or simply relax and enjoy a picnic surrounded by some of Cape Town’s most beautiful scenery.
